My Exciting Opportunity! I received an interesting email one day. It came from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). It intrigued me because I had recently gotten addicted to HGTV! In this email, a lovely lady named Lakisha asked if I would be interested in a business opportunity to promote a book that NAHB was publishing. The book is titled: "Trillion Dollar Women: Use Your Power to Make Buying and Remodeling Decisions." Needless to say, I was overwhelmed! First of all, with the thousands of handbag companies across the country Lakisha chose Twixi Designs. Her thought was that since women hold the “power of the purse” why not present the book in a handbag! That said, they sent out review copies to over 100 book reviewers and TV shows in handbags. I provided handbags for the following TV show hosts including Oprah Winfrey, Kelly Ripa, Diane Sawyer, Katie Couric, Meridith Vieira, and Hanna Storm. Click here to see who got what! This has been the best experience! My friend Linda and I got to go to Washington, D. C. and meet Lakisha, another lovely lady, Patricia, and the crew at NAHB. They are a great group of people! We also got a tour of NAHB's fabulous building! Beautiful! They took us to lunch and showed us such wonderful hospitality. It was great to have Linda with me. My husband Mark said he would go, but he's planning on the trip to Oprah instead!
